Cotopaxi, the second highest mountain in Ecuador and still an active vulcano is about to flex his muscles. Since several weeks smoke is rising from its chimney and many small earthquakes are evidences that something is happening in its inside.

Quito and the foundation are about 50km away from the vulcano and thus not in the direct hazard zone. Nevertheless Marco and the foundation is prepared: They bought face masks against the dust and filled up water tanks and the supply of food.

At the moment they are enjoying the seldom spectacle. The actual predictions assume, that the Cotopaxi will break out but not as severe as assumed at the beginning.
