Summer camp – a tradition of joy

In July 2007 we decided to go on a two day trip to close the school year for the first time. We have been going on with this tradition for 7 years now, going to different places every time.

The kids love this event at the end of school year as they can have fun and play, get to know new places and experience new and life-enhancing things. It is very motivating to see their enthusiasm and happiness and especially their solidarity during these two days. The playful and educational games not only help the kids, but also their families and the whole community.

This year’s camp took place in Puerto Quito. There the boys and girls could enjoy the nature, the river and the little village. As there are more children attending the afternoon homework tutoring also the number of kids attending the camp increased. This meant more work, also because we decided to cook for ourselves, which was a big challenge. Preparing meals for over 50 children is not as simple as that!

We will hopefully be able to offer this great experience also during the next years. Let’s keep dreaming!
